Woozy But Upright

Not quite up to a new post today.  I spent the night rushing to the bathroom to relieve sudden nausea.  Today I have eaten ten ice cubes, a handful of dry cereal and two small pieces of chocolate (Hey! I needed the calories!), and I am only grateful that it has all stayed properly in my stomach.

The doc said if I couldn’t keep liquids down by this afternoon, I would need to bring my sorry pregnant body to the hospital (not his words) to check for dehydration, but the crisis seems to have passed.  Now I have only the ennui of knowing that there is a perfectly delicious peach-streusel pie in my fridge, and I cannot even muster up desire for it.  Is this how men with erectile dysfunction feel?

Az the Husband (not to be connected to the previous sentence - just count the babies) called from work to see how I was doing.  He is having a bad day at work, so I told him he could always use his sick wife as an excuse to come home early.

“I think my sick wife might be easier to manage from here, ” he said.  That man is not dumb.

And now baby PoppySeed is napping, and the two older girls are ensconced in front of Cinderella.   I will take the moment for some beauty sleep, where I may possibly dream that food tastes good again.  New post as soon as I can eat a real meal.

Hope your wooziness passes soon. We just had a pregnant friend and her husband overnight, and she was asking me all about my pregnancy maladies. I had many, but I had a hard time remembering them! I guess God gives “mommy brain” to encourage population growth. :)

  2. NOBLE PIG

Oh bummer, that is the worst feeling! Feel better soon.

I got to the part about ED and lost it. LOST IT.

(Pun not originally intended, but I was amused once I noticed it.)

That’s awful. I hope you feel better soon! I am impressed that you are still able to be funny and coherent.

I now covet your peach pie. Thanks a lot.

Cinderella is my girls’ drug of choice as well. Nothing like knowing that you have just over an hour of peace and quiet! Sometimes mommies just really need that.

  6. Julie

Shoot, even your non-posts are so entertaining! I do hope you feel better soon, though!

I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t been feeling well and hope that it gets better so that you can enjoy the pie. I must commend you for being able to be adorably funny even in times of nausea!

Sudden nausea is weird, isn’t it? I have thrown up this past week several times. I am pregnant, so the throwing up part isn’t weird. The weird part is that this past week was the FIRST time I have been nauseated in this pregnancy and I am already more that 13 weeks preggo. So, yeah…second trimester is supposed to be better? When I can’t even change my toddler’s diaper or open the fridge without hurling?

My sympathies. Good luck with the ice chips.

ED and nausea–something I never would have guessed I would read about today! Thanks!

So sorry. Just thinking today how much it stunk to be sick for 9 months.
May your peaches be good tomorrow.

I’ll come eat the pie for you, if your taste buds decide to go on strike for the foreseeable future.

I almost lost it when I got to the ED part. But I’m so sorry you are feeling so unwell.

Sweet mother of pearl, that erectile disfunction bit made me HOWL. and I will eat your share of pie until you recover. I am just a wonderful friend like that.

“Just count the babies”–an excellent line.

The Loved’s response to this post would not be sympathy over the nausea, or tsking noises about ED, or even agreeing nods about Az staying out of the line of fire. All he would say is “I like pie.” I hope that you got to eat some today.

It seems like a cruel joke to feel sick anytime after the first trimester….I hope you feel better soon!

    I hope you’re feeling better soon…

Hee-hee-hee! Loved your post…sorry you had to feel sick to write it. Get well soon…at least soon enough to still have some pie left for you.

Oh no, I hope you’re feeling better soon.
