A Day in Pictures

So after an awful day with the kids, I decided we needed a really good day together. So we got junky fast food for lunch, went to the art museum, and then ate ice cream at a playground.

We relaxed and played, and they were actually obedient, non-whiny and delightful.

JellyBean was delighted with the art museum’s reflecting pool.

I cannot explain why I love this picture so, but I do.

Sweetpea combines her love of ice cream and aspirations to be a symphony conductor. I think.

Strawberry frozen yogurt with chocolate sprinkles looks surprisingly like blood with a chaser of ants.

JellyBean loves the slides.

PoppySeed eschewed ice cream in favor of wood chips.

All in all, the day was definitely a success.

I cannot explain why I love this picture…

The elbow dimple? The saggy breeches? SO adorable.

Also, PoppySeed looks like a Hobbit child in those pictures. Too cute.

What a fun day. Sometimes junky fast food is really the only appropriate choice for lunch. Good for you!

  2. Veronica Mitchell

Yes! It’s the elbow dimple! I love, love, love her elbow dimples.

  3. Minnesotamom

What a fantastic treat! So rare are the photos of the “Mitchell” children…

Glad you had a good time! We spent a little fun in the sun today ourselves. Anja did not, however, get a taste of our mini donuts.

Little girls! They’re so adorable and filled with personality. (We have two boys and no girls at all, so baby girls are like a rare species around here.)

I know you said that Poppy Seed has been quite demanding lately, but wow is she ever CUTE! All three of them are. I’m glad you had a fun day together. Yahoo for obedient, non-whiny children!!!

Oh the pictures are divine! Just divine. I just couldn’t be happier that you had such a good parenting day. Hurray for those rare days when your children are all sweet and obedient.

The good days more than make up for the bad days, don’t they? Glad to hear you and your girls had a nice day together, after passing around the sickies and just being miserable.

Wonderful photos, too. The look of mischief in “peekaboo” is priceless. Is she trying to sneak a few extra wood chips there?

Such a beautiful day, such beautiful children. So nice to see faces to go with the “names”. Thank God for the good days. You are so normal.

  8. Karen

oh, you mixed up your mommy game so as to defeat them - woops, I mean love and nurture them - good going. You rocked it

i want to take three little girls to the museum and for ice cream. heck, i want to be taken to the museum and for ice cream.

Bravo recovery. I pray that the day’s goodness filled you to overflowing, granting that little extra for when it’s needed. Sweet, sweet, and littlest sweet. Thanks for sharing those photos.

  12. Jeana

    How fun!

I also love the way she’s pointing in the picture. It’s very toddler-esque. (esqe?) And the elbow dimple kills me.

  13. Alison

Hooray for good days! And your girls are adorable (but you knew that).

  14. brother

    Veronica,

Tell Az, I said good thing he has recessive genes because I know he’s not as cute as my 3 nieces :)

Oh, your girls are adorable. But everyone’s already told you that, and you already know that. But I just wanted to pipe in! Brother’s comment was pretty funny.

  16. Tonggu Momma

The elbow dimple, for sure. Plus the saggy britches and the toddler sway back. Love it!!!!

  17. Amanda

So sweet, and such adorable girls. I just love days like that. Also, I love the bit about blood with a chaser of ants. So hilarious!

  18. Sue

They are so cute (those EYES!) and they look like they’re having such a great time. Thank goodness for parks and ice cream.

  19. Heidi

Every so often my kids surprise me with just how delightful they can be.

    Yours look super-delightful.

  20. Buffy

These are too sweet. And those eyes!

  21. Jennifer

I did a day in pictures yesterday before finding this. Now it would appear that I copied you. But I didn’t! I hadn’t seen yours yet!

I love that last shot of your oldest. They are all so adorable. And full of personality.

  22. Beck

Oh, beautiful! What gorgeous, gorgeous children you have.
Sometimes just carrying my camera with me helps fix bad days, helps me see that the bad, bad children driving me crazy are actually my beloved, beautiful darlings. Sometimes. And sometimes, I want to drink.

“I cannot explain why I love this picture so, but I do”

    also the cute little patooshie.

Thanks for sharing these sweet pictures!

  25. Melanie at Beanpaste

Aaaah. Sometimes it takes only one good day, afternoon, or hour to pull us back from the brink and divert our attention from locating gypsy caravans in the market for girl toddlers.

(Also, they are just beautiful. I’ll bet you could get a really high price for them.)

  26. Pieces

Oh, my. Those pictures are the cutest ever! And I love your descriptors.

  27. ivymae

I realized today that while I had seen your “I’m moving!” announcement, I told myself “Okay, I will add the new blog to the google reader just as soon as dinner is done/the kids are fed/no one is poopy/the screaming as stopped/I make more coffee” and now it’s weeks and weeks later and I’m just now catching up.

    Your girls are beautiful!
